My Wishful and Wordless Wednesday

My wish came true, and I'm speechless...

christmas came early.

I didn't sleep well last night, and when my day started out by Savannah throwing up in one of our vending locations. I didn't think that I was going to be able to recover. I actually was debating on whether to call in sick to work.

Remember me talking about my sidekick? This girl. Remember me talking about QuicKutz, and making all these cute napkin rings? My sidekick has been nice enough to let me borrow all of her stuff, ALL OF THE TIME. =) Guess what she bought me for Christmas? All of my OWN stuff!!! Squeeze, book, dies, idea books, the works! Can you believe it? I couldn't. Sidekick also came equipped with paper, because she knows how impatient I am. I started punching out stuff right away. I could hardly contain my enthusiasm.This turned a VERY bad day, into SOMETHING FABULOUS.

I am having 9 guest for Christmas dinner this year. I have two sets of Christmas dishes, each setting is for 4 people. I thought I could just leave Savannah out, but then this girl and I came up with a plan. =)

We started off with a seating chart, and Savannah decided what every one's place setting would be. 3 will be snowflake, 3 will be reindeer, and 3 will be "flowers", as Savannah puts it. I bought some cheap dishes, I borrowed some dishes, and some I already owned.

This is where my brilliant sidekick comes in...she told me a secret for napkin holders to match my place settings. You cut up your paper towel tube, and voila...napkin holders. I wrapped them in some paper, and put a cute little Quickutz on top. Take a look...

This will be the first time in our marriage we will spending Christmas with family. I am thrilled, and am counting the days until there arrival from Wisconsin.

How do you teach your child to be kind to everyone, but also protect themselves? How do you teach your child to defend themselves, but be an example? How do you instill in your child the confidence to stand up for themselves, but in a nice way? How do you stress to your child they deserve to be treated with the utmost respect?

Savannah is a sensitive lil' thing. She was destined to be this way, because Paul and I are both sensitive. Savannah wants to be friends with everyone, even if they aren't being nice to her. I watch Savannah, and see myself in her. At age 27 I am just now learning how to stand up for myself when someone hurts my feelings. I hope to help Savannah learn this younger, but how?!

In Primary I watch one little girl in particular be rude to Savannah. Savannah takes it, and keeps taking it. She cries, gets over it, and cries again. It is hard to sit back, and not want to be the over protective Mother that I am. This little girl tells Savannah how she doesn't want to be friends, won't let other little girls talk to her, and tells Savannah she can't do the same things that she can. I didn't know that at age 4 this is already happening, and especially at church.

Tonight at the playground at Chick-Fil-A I found Savannah in tears. There was a little boy about 7 or so that had beatin' up on her. Are you kidding me? His Father actually made him come up and apologize to not only Savannah, but to me. Is it right for me to tell Savannah next time that happens to punch back?

Does anyone else have these same problems? Does anyone else have this inner battle of what is really right? Help!

Don't these just scream holiday hottie!!??

Paul decided on a new tradition for Christmas. It is buy nice Christmas outfits for all of us, not just Savannah. He was in charge...and purchased everything on his own. Yup, Paul can shop for me, and pick the exact size out, without me even going in the mall to try anything on. Pretty talented guy, huh? I know I'm one lucky gal. N-E who...back to these holiday hottie shoes. I need these! Don't say that I have too many shoes, Paul!! =) A girl can never have enough shoes. Your with me girls, right?

Tide To Go pen!

Works great on white shirts that have splatters of nacho cheese...from the kick butt lil' party we had! It came right out. I know that Paul has a different take on this product, but I was amazed. Paul used this on his dress shirt, and it didn't seem to work as

well. =( Maybe it just works with nacho cheese.

Santa #2

Wal Mart was taking FREE pictures with Santa. It is no wonder why they were FREE. He was worse than the Fashion Place Mall Santa. How bad was he you ask? I didn't even go back to pick up the FREE picture. Savannah even looked adorable. So, you know what we say...NEXT! =)
