Guest Blogger: Emily from Georgie Tees

I am thrilled to have Emily from Georgie Tees here as my first guest. =) I was fortunate to attend a girls night with Emily where she made this delicious dessert. Since I don't cook, it didn't seem right for me to post a recipe. Emily was gracious enough to come and share with you!! I loved every bite of this delicious, rich, trifile...

You don’t “trifle” with a girls night in!

When I get together with my girlfriends it’s all about the food strengthening our friendship. But you can only chat/gossip/laugh hysterically so long before you get hungry. If you’ve opted for a girls night in rather than a girls night out, may I suggest an indulgence as decadent as the stories you’ll be telling? This chocolate trifle is one of my favorite desserts to make because it looks beautiful, tastes fabulous and serves a large group and yet is super easy to make.

Maybe when I have something other than my fridge-meets-stove-meets-sink, everything-within-reaching-distance kitchen I’ll go more gourmet with the desserts. For now I go with what can be made without a lot of counter space…and fridge space, thanks to the Danimals, Go-gurts, Costco-size carton of grapes and multiple Tupperware containers that litter my fridge!

If you don’t have a girls night in already planned get it on the calendar now. Yes, this chocolate trifle is that important! Feel free to add your own flair, whether it’s sliced strawberries, turtle brownies or gourmet chocolate shavings. Whatever you do, enjoy it with good friends. As my husband’s grandfather used to say, “Everything tastes better when shared.”

Decadent Chocolate Trifle
1 (19.8 oz) package brownie mix
1 (3.9 oz) package instant chocolate pudding mix
1/2 cup water
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (8 oz) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 (12 oz) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 (8 oz) bag Heath bar bits
Chocolate and caramel sauce for drizzling

Prepare brownie mix according to package directions and cool completely. Cut into 1 inch squares. In a large bowl combine pudding mix, water and sweetened condensed milk. Mix until smooth, then fold in 8 ounces whipped topping until no streaks remain.

In a trifle bowl or glass serving dish place half the brownies, half the pudding mixture and half the 12-oz. container of whipped topping. Sprinkle with Heath bar bits and drizzle with chocolate and caramel. Repeat layers. Crumble a Heath bar candy bar into large chunks and dollop in the center. Refrigerate 8 hours before serving.

a decade...

of wedded bliss.
This year was as hard as our first year (Did I mention our 1st year was HARD!?). We fell apart, picked the pieces back up, and some how came out of it more in love and stronger.
This is the year that I figured out why I married Paul.

Paul loves, loves, loves me, and is probably the most loyal person you will ever meet. Paul is the only one in this world that really looks out for me, his #1. I am really sensitive, and Paul understands. Paul will go to the mall, and never miss looking at the D&B purses to update me on what is new. Paul is okay with going and doing girly stuff with me. What is there not to love, right? We have played hundreds of rounds of mini golf.
We have traveled to multiple states.
We have gone on so many walks, you can't count.
We have moved 4 times.
We have done many duets. We have our favorite.
We have been poor, very poor!
We have gone to the theater to see hundreds of movies.
We have cried together.
We have taken thousands of pictures of us!
We brought Van into this world together.
We have fought.
We have made up.
We haven't gone to enough concerts, but have eaten out too much!
We started a business, but Paul needs all the credit for this.
We conquered depression, and I still haven't figured out weight loss. =)
I paint Paul's toe nails, and Paul massages my dry feet.
Paul pumps my gas for me almost every single time, and I clean his toilet.

Paul is my protector, my comforter, my BEST friend.

I tear up just writing this. Seriously. I am so in love with him.

This is the song I am listening to while I sit and right this...

Reba Mcentire
Til I Said It To You

Sometimes I said it when I really didn't mean it
Just to throw away a promise I knew wasn't true
It meant a little less to me everytime I did it
But I never said I love you from the heart
'Til I said it to you

You made me tell you the truth
And that truth was a total revelation
I see I have it in me
Now I can speak without any hesitation
I love you comes so freely
For the first time I believe me.

Once upon a time I was engaged to another boy. I was making bad choices, because I had little to no guidance. Paul found me, literally. He was a missionary. He was my saving grace. I would not be where I am at today without him. I have achieved so much, because he believes in me. He believes in US!
I can't wait for the next decade, because something tells me that it's goin' to be good. Another child, maybe even two. ;) Many more vacations, walks, duets, and movies!
Paul, I will go anywhere, as long as it's with you! I am madlly in love!

imagination

As you could tell from "the other" post...Van has an imagination. She loves creating! Color Me Mine was a perfect adventure for BFF to take Van on. I have to say that I was a little jealous after seeing the pictures that I couldn't have gone with. The other night I saw BFF, and she gave me the BEST present ever... the finished product! It was so fun to hear about her masterpiece. Did you know that those circles in the bottom of the bowl are bouncy balls?
I have the bowl sitting on my desk to remind me to be creative, dare to be different, mix colors, and be myself!

Thanks friend for taking her! Loves you long time!

they are only good at one thing...

breaking our hearts!!
I am pretty sure that we are going to have to switch teams if we ever want the Jazz to win. A couple of weeks ago Paul decided to be a Blazers fan. The next time the Blazers played they lost, and the Jazz won. I think that we are their "unlucky charm"!Doesn't this picture basically sum up the season...

the hills.

Who watches all of the drama unfold on The Hills? Who follows them on Twitter? Who reads the tabloids to find out if Heidi and Spencer are on or off?I have been a fan of LC long before The Hills. Did you watch Laguna Beach? Loved that show. Loved and still love Stephen. Wish he would have followed LC to The Hills! =( Isn't he adorable?
Who is so sick of Speidi? ME! I can't handle one more episode of them fighting. Seriously. Can you believe that they got married? Then I came across this gem...some of the wedding party...
Isn't that just an over sized shirt? Can you imagine if this chica tried to bend over? It's just wrong!

Our meal was $22!! $22, really! All three of us got drinks, and had their 2 fer! There is plenty of food to share with Van.Can you see why I didn't buy Van a kid's meal? This plate of pulled pork is huge, and delish! The only thing that I would change about my meal is to have a pile of those onion rings, not just one!Do you want to eat at Texas Roadhouse? Here is your chance!!! I have not just one, not just two, but three, $25 gift cards to giveaway! The catch is if you win, you have to blog about your dining experience. =)

TMI

A couple of weeks ago we are sitting in church of all places, and Van draws this family picture of us...Of course you know who everyone is, right? I immediately wonder what the line down below is on Paul. I whisper to her "Van, what is that?" She says "Mama, that is his na-na's!" (Which by the way is what she calls his equipment!) Paul and I both look at each other and started laughing.

Paul then tries to explain to her about drawing clothes on people. That is where the circles around us came in. Apparently not very modest clothes.

I haven't stopped laughing for like 2 weeks!! This had to make you laugh?

*side note - Van never sees Paul naked!!
*another side note - Van just saw her picture on the screen, and gave me a high-five. It's making the world wide web!

the farm.

We went to Wheeler Farm on a play date. It didn't seem like a very fun place, until I had Van, of course! It doesn't matter where we go, we have fun! It doesn't cost much, and it is highly entertaining. We went in the fall (remember this?). I have to say that Spring is a lot more exciting, because of all the new babies. Everything is cuter when it's miniature! The ducks and geese were insane! They were chasing after us for the food! They have these cute lil' houses spread out all over the farm. This pretty much is Van in a nut shell! We visited on the right day, because this little guy was born just hours before we got there...
Van was so excited to hold hands with her BF. I tried to take a picture without them noticing. Young love. Aaah!Yeehaw, that was a fun trip!!

Food Reviews

Ever wondered why my blog is called Sell...Party of 3?

It started off as Just the 3 of Us. I came across other blogs that were also named this. I had to come up with something that was more fitting to us. I was talkin' to one of my besties, and she came up with my blog title. I would love to take credit, but not on this one. =)

We eat out A LOT. Sometimes even multiple times a day. I mostly dine at dives, but when I go to a place to eat that has a hostess, they say "Sell, Party of 3!" I never give them my name. EVER. I called to order a pizza a couple of nights ago, and when I gave them my phone number they said "Is this under the name of Savannah?" My response was "Why yes it is!" Peeps never get my name right.
(This is us @ Bubba Gumps...I'll review this when we go back to California in September!)
Because of my addiction to eating out I have decided to do my own reviews on places we dine. I travel as north as Twin Falls, Idaho. I travel as south as Mapleton, Utah. I love to try new places. Not all of them are classy or clean, but I will let you in on the 4-1-1 of what I think! You will be warned now that my pallet is not very sophisticated...or so I have been told. If I like it, it's huge! I am super picky.

On with the show...

(Spinach & Artichoke Dip with chips)

My new craving is this dish. Who cares how many calories this baby has...it is delish! It is at your neighborhood Applebee's! They are running a special as we speak 2 fer $20. Best deal, but if like Dr. Pepper as much as Paul does, it is a sacrifice to go here. We have gone twice this month...this shows you how much Paul loves me, or just that it was my birthday and I got to pick!! This meal from start to finish is divine. We always get the Maple Butter Blondie for dessert...hold the blondie sauce, and put hot fudge. Most. def. better. this. way!
I could give you a list of things we order here from their French Onion Soup to their Crispy Shrimp...it won't disappoint. Okay, unless you get that old grumpy lady for a waitress...she was just mean, and made our experience not as pleasant!

You wanna have me try out a place, because you are too scared? Let me know. Either drop me a comment or an e-mail. I'll review it for you. You wanna come with me to eat? I would love to have you join me. I already have a date set up to go to Blue Lemon with the girls. (So help me if it falls through ladies!) I have never been, but the way people talk...I gotta try it!

Just wait until my next review...I'm already salivating!

Party Like It's 1999...

I {heart} hotels!
Then you add a casino to a hotel...what is not to love!? (okay, the smoke is a bit much)
This was our pre-anniversary present...a night away from Van. Aaaah, bliss! We stayed up late, took multiple bubble baths, "people watched" until my little heart was content, ate THE biggest banana split known to man, and didn't eat at the buffet...you know why? I found a cheap Mexican dive that had killer food. You wanna know what Van did while we were away...go here. This is the cool bathtub...which is one of my requirements for a good hotel room too!
And of course you have to have one of these photos...

The mushy-gushy, lovie-dovie, ooey-gooey post is coming soon...

WJ Park

This is why I take Van to the park... This is why I call this girl, my BFF...
This is why you should never let your BFF take the camera...This is why the tire swing was invented...This is why we should have gone to Mickey D's, instead of Rubios...

*I think that I like play dates more than Van. =)
