Holland's Birthday Party!

Savannah attended her first friend birthday party. I don't know who was more excited and nervous, Savannah or me! It was such a fun party, and we both didn't stop smiling. The theme was Carnival. For lunch they had corn dogs, hot dogs, potato salad, baked bean, chips, watermelon, and the list goes on. Kamille was definitely a good party planner. They hired 3 clowns to come to entertain. The clowns were over the top cheesy, but of course the kids loved them. They had fun games, and of course nothing would be complete without an adorable clown "cupcake" cake.
P.S. Uncle Kyle, did you notice my Harley Davidson shirt still fits!? We went out to dinner today, and some older guy on a HD bike commented on her shirt. She got a little embarassed, but was proud!

dIfFeRent!

I have been trying to take "different" pictures. Here is my first attempt at what I consider "different". Savannah is rarely unhappy. Most of the time she has perma grin. She was mad at me yesterday, because we left the house without her baby.

Collage!

Thanks to my new "blogging friend" Susan who taught me how to make these cute collages! =) This is my first attempt, and I used Emily as my guinea pig. Thanks for letting me take a bunch of RanDoM pictures with you! I absolutely LOVE this new program I have, and will make many more. =)

Things that make you go, mmm?

Does OCD come from environment or is it genetic? Does anyone else feel like changing their background every day? ;) Do you ever wonder what people REALLY think of you? Why do people have to be so darn competitive, including myself? How do you break REALLY bad habits? Do you ever think of something to blog about, and then take pictures to go along with your idea? How many people actually sing in the shower? Why do people make you feel guilty for the things you have? Why do they call this a "blog"? When did you stop believing in the Easter Bunny & Santa? Why do you always want MORE? Why can't we just be happy with what we have? =( What is your biggest DrEaM? Why do men not have to shave their facial hair, but if women go without shaving their legs it's disgusting? Have you ever used the Cottonelle wipes? Why do people say I'll call you back, and then never do? Why not say nothing at all? Why can't we all just be ourselves (around everyone)? Why are Rockstars (guava) and Trolli Eggs the best thing in this world? he, he, he! Why can't we all just get along? Does anyone else LOVE vacuum lines? Does every girl like popping zits? =) How do people afford to have it ALL?

Feel free to add a random question, answer a question, or just ponder!

Memorial Day

Paul surprised me the other day when he said that he paid the boy scouts to come and put a flag in front of our house on those "special holidays". I know it's horrible to say, but I actually wondered if they would follow through and do it. To my surprise at 7 something this morning I heard the pounding of our flag being installed. The boys scouts pulled through for me, and they even did it in the pouring rain. Bless those young men! =) It does make me feel proud to have the American Flag flying in front of our home.

When I told Savannah that the flag was flying outside she needed to of course investigate the situation. In our pj's and all we went outside to get a closer look. She was pretty cute when she said "It's going to fly up to heaven with Jesus?" She was confused as to why we say the flag is flying. I think that she was having flash backs of her balloon being let go at Gardner Village, and a certain person telling her a CrAzY STORY!! he, he, he!

Sweatin' to the Oldies...

Although I'm not proud, I do own this VHS still! It should have went to the DI along time ago. It didn't, and Savannah has now found a new video she insists on watching. It is hysterical watching her do it. I have had a good laugh at Savannah's expense. These pictures didn't turn out as well, because I had to turn my flash off. She saw the camera come out, and said I couldn't take her picture. She is a smart little girl...she knew I would blog the embarrassing moment to cherish forever!P.S. Emily, do you remember the day Paul was in Idaho and out of boredom we did this video? Yeah, it's harder than we thought! I just remember a lot of laughing!

Craft Project!

This morning was a lot like Christmas morning for Savannah. She woke up bright and early to do her project that Grandma Boss sent her in the mail. Savannah didn't even want to eat breakfast (totally not like my daughter). These wood dolls are adorable. They are plain, and you can color them yourself. Cool idea huh? We had a blast doing them.

Colors Part II

We have had 3 successful days of learning colors!

Our 2nd day was brown. It consisted of lots, and lots of brown food. =) We had wheat bread, peanut butter, chocolate milk, Dr Pepper, tacos with brown meat, and beans. It has been fun trying to think of new things for Savannah to remember her colors by.

Our 3rd day was yellow. We found out that Wendy's has yellow napkins, yellow cups, and that french fries are kind of yellow too! Savannah was very observant. She pointed out that the stripes in a parking lot were even yellow!!

Today is green. We are watching our Salamander DVD, and we have our "matching" shirts on for the 3rd day in a row. =) Savannah has dressed in her frog costume (from a couple of Halloweens ago). I haven't figured out lunch yet. It might just have some food coloring involved, and lettuce!

I am so excited that she is catching on. It makes me feel proud. It's amazing how the little things can make your day!

Colors!

Some of you may know I have had a suspicion that Savannah might be color blind. Paul at first didn't believe me, but after working endless amounts of hours with her...she still doesn't get it. I have taken many suggestions on what to do with her, still with no success. Today I was making her lunch, and decided to make one last attempt to help her. I decided to do a "color lunch". Mac & Cheese, an orange, orange PowerAde, orange lollipop, and a pumpkin place mat. I also sent her to her room to find something orange to wear for lunch, and I went to my room and put some orange shorts on to get in the mood with her. =) IT WORKED! She can now tell you what orange is! I am going to have to get REALLY creative for such colors like black and pink! Give me suggestion if you have any. There is hope for Savannah learning her colors after all. Do you know how excited I am about this?! A girl has got to know her colors...can you imagine her not being able to accessorize. =) Yeah, for Savannah knowing the color ORANGE!!

P.S. I think one of the funniest stories about Savannah learning her colors has got to be her playing Candyland with my Dad. My Dad tried telling her jokes...and to this day she still says "Green, Green, Green" like a phone is ringing. Too bad she points at yellow, and says it! lol ( Thanks Dad!)

Sprinklers!

After realizing I forgot to pick up a pool this weekend. I went to the old stand by...running through the sprinklers in the back yard. It was warm enough, but the water was still too cold for my taste. Savannah enjoyed every minute of it. I love all of her energy, and that is now warm enough for her to burn off some of it outside. =)

"Dirt"y Girls!

First off I have to say Kyle look at our "shrub thingy" we transplanted in the fall. It's actually blooming. That makes 1 out of 6 that looks good. =) I will be digging up the ones in the front yard, and buying new. They weren't as lucky in the transplanting as this one.

Paul called Savannah and I his "dirt"y girls. Savannah and I can't go a weekend without weeding, digging up something, making mud, etc. She loves it, and I have started to actually like it too!

Most of you didn't get to see our lawn when we moved in, but you would be AMAZED by how green our grass is. This house sat empty for over 6 months, and we didn't ever think we would see it green. With a little TLC it's come a long way. (click on the house picture to see it in a bigger size)

Look forward to some more pictures. I am excited to be planting my new shrubs in front, and lots and lots of flowers in my empty flower beds! =)

The Weekends Rule!

We started off our weekend right...I got off early from work!! Paul and I took Savannah down to the Energy Solutions Arena for the pregame festivities. Savannah had so much fun dancing to the live band. She really wanted to play basketball, but she was too small for the hoops. =( While we were walking from the arena I saw this guy sitting down by a tree. I told Paul that he looked familiar (like from our ward or something). Paul just started to laugh at me, because it was Mark Madsen (who use to play for the LA Lakers a couple of years ago, and now plays for the Timberwolves I think). I am a complete dork. Paul can't say that I don't pay attention to sports...at least I could remember seeing him from somewhere.
Shane came in town from Rexburg. =) Paul and I both said we didn't realize how much we missed him. Last week when Savannah got mad at Paul and I she yelled at me "I want my Uncle Shane!". So, to say that she was excited to see him would be an understatement! Of course we couldn't have a slumber party without having Paul and Shane rent a scary movie. Savannah and I laid in her bed listening to Disney music, while the boys laughed at how stupid the movie was. It was nice to see him even though the trip was short. We will be excited when he moves back for fall semester, and lives in Salt Lake by us. Here is a couple of pictures I took this morning.
Savannah is explaining how she hurt her finger. I thought it was adorable how Shane acted so concerned for her. Savannah loves when people act really excited about her stories.

Cinde-freakin'-rella!

I saw this on Rachel's blog, and wondered how close to my personality it would be. It says I'm patient. I'm not sure that is me, but maybe it is thinking of what I am aspiring to be. =)
You Are Cinderella!

Dignified and hard working. With a gentle and soft-spoken manner you have something many people don't. Patience. Even through the moments of heartbreak you're still able to hold onto all of your hopes and dreams. Bide your time; your dream will come true.

Which Disney Princess Are You?

Crazy Idea!

We were playing outside this morning, and Savannah wanted me to squirt her with the hose. I tell Savannah that it's entirely too cold to play in the water at 9:00 am. All of the sudden Savannah takes off for the house, and I find her in her room putting on her swimsuit. She tells me "Momma I'll just swim in the bath tub in the warm water!" Brilliant idea huh?! She had so much fun, and can't wait for a little pool in the backyard this summer. =)

Carl's Jr

After many, many times of going to Carl's Jr. Paul and I are finally sick of it. Too bad Savannah doesn't share this same feeling with us (because of the playland). At our old house it was within walking distance. Paul would walk there probably a good 3, maybe even 4 times a week for dinner. Savannah could tell you Paul's order (pathetic huh?). Famous Star, no cheese, no pickles! As a last hooray I took some pictures of Savannah in the playland.

Oquirrh Mountain Temple

They announced that this temple would be built on the Oquirrh Mountains back in 2006. Who knew that we would move to the Oquirrh Mountains and live SO close. Every time we drive past I always tell Paul it doesn't look like it's making any progress. Today I decided to take some pictures so that I could compare from one sighting to the next. Even unfinished it's a beautiful building. I love how it sits up on a hill like the Bountiful Temple does. We really are lucky in Utah to only have to take a short drive in almost every direction to run into a temple. The bad thing is I still don't get there as much as I should. =)
This is what the finished product will look like.

7 Facts About Savannah

Savannah got "tagged" by Jerzi...so here are 7 facts about our little Savannah.
I was looking through some old photos and found this one of Savannah. Where the heck did the time go? Doesn't she looks so sweet and innocent?!1- Savannah wants to take Karate, but to be a "Little Dragon" she has to be 4 years old.
2- Savannah only has girl cousins...all of which she LOVES so much!!
3- Savannah still has a hard time falling to sleep, staying a sleep, and is early to rise! (That makes for a tired Mommy most days!)
4- Savannah's favorite vegetable is broccoli or "trees" is what she calls them.
5- Savannah loves going to the library, where she always finds a new friend.
6- Savannah just figured out a couple of weeks ago that there are rides at Disneyland. She thought that she just got to meet the Princesses, and see the "temple"/castle.
7- Savannah begs Paul to let her come in to vending locations to clean the machines with him. It's really cute, and she is actually pretty good at it.

Savannah "tags" Grayson, Molly, and the Nipper Boys =)

Jazz!

I have finally decided I am not cheering for the Jazz anymore! Just when I stopped cheering them on is when they started to win. =( So, it must have something to do with me. I think that I might even stay at work until the game is over, avoiding all bad karma I might have on them. If they lose it will not be my fault this time.

bUmMer!!

Last night was the final episode of The Hills! =( Now I have to wait until August to find out what happens with the girls. I know it's probably all fake, but I'm obsessed. I have watched LC since Laguna Beach. Wish me luck during the summer. I don't know how I am going to deal with it.

Being A MoM!

I had no idea when Paul and I brought Savannah in to this world how much my life would change! She truly is my best little friend. Savannah is honestly the sweetest spit fire you'll ever meet. She will get me a tissue when I cry, and yell at me when she doesn't like what I have to tell her. Savannah is so much like me. It sounds so cliche when I say I'm happy to have her in my little family.
Who knew that after just 3 short years I would have experienced so many different emotions. I have told so many people that I thought that I would be a much different Mom, a much more patient one. Savannah likes to see how mad she can make me. A recent habit of hers is talking back. I thought that this would happen a lot later in her life, but maybe I'm suppose to learn early so I know how to cope with it in the teenage years.
Just when I think I am doing everything wrong Savannah will surprise me. Savannah is always giving an unexpected kiss, thank you Mommy, I love you, or the comment that melts my heart is YOU ARE MY BEST FRIEND MOMMY! (I hope that she still feels this way after she goes to school.) This is when I realize that all of the sleepless nights, tears, and frustration is all worth it!!! The good definitely out weighs the bad!
I love her SO much, and I thank Paul all of the time for giving in and letting me have a baby. He will say now how different life would have been if we didn't have her. She completes us!

Race For The Cure '08...Team Willey

I am so glad that Landon and I discussed doing a 5K run, and I actually followed through and did it. =) I had the best hair day today, and go ahead and take a long gaze at my picture after the race. Doesn't it look like I might have been the only one out of shape! lol. I have some wonderful friends and co-workers. It was awesome to get together outside of work, and have fun. (l to r) Landon, Chris, Me, Tammy, and Girardo
Look at all the people, and we weren't at the front of the line!!
Gaze away at the brightest red face!!! (l to r) Nels, Girardo, Chris, Me, and Landon
Thanks to Chris for staying with me the whole time. My official running partner for next year! He was amazing!
Of course my #1 girly friend... We met up after the race.
Last but not least...while getting Savannah some apple dippers from the McDonald's booth...Look who I ran in to??

M-I-L

First of all I should say thank you for bringing Paul into this world!! He has changed my life! I think that one of the things that impresses me about my Mother in law is the way she treats her Mom. After living in California for 20 something years she moved back to Wisconsin to be close to her Mom. Impressive huh? I can't say that I would do that for my Mom (sorry Mom! lol)!! The other thing that Paul and I both have said about her is that she never speaks unkindly about people. A quality I wish that I could have. After much digging, searching, and browsing...no luck in finding a picture of just the two of us. You would think after 10 years I would have one. That is my new goal for '08. =) Happy Mother's Day, Debbie/Mom! Love you!

I don't know if you can see her shirt, but Paul and I for Mother's Day one year put our picture on a t-shirt!! It still makes me laugh!
