mini mani

For Valentine's day Savannah and I got manicures. Savannah felt so special, but a little disappointed that Mommy wouldn't let her get long nails. =)

Love

It feels good to be loved.
I was feeling especially low this morning.
Do you ever have those mornings when you know you look like crap?
It was one of THOSE mornings.
I got in the car, and Paul was immediately tipped off by my silence.
He grabbed my chin, and turned my face toward his.
I immediately broke down in to tears.
Paul knows just what to say to me...
"You have never looked more beautiful, than today."
Of course I started to cry more!

I am married to a pretty amazing man!
I am so lucky!
Happy Valentine's Day to the love of my life!
I have never been more in love with you, than today!
Thank you for always knowing just what to say, and loving me just the way that I am. You are my best friend, and I will happily stand by your side for eternity.

Nothing is more important in life than giving & receiving love.

Balentime's Party!

Nothing says I'm ready to party like a side pony tail. =) We had a Valentine box contest. I went in feeling confident, and was shocked when my beauty didn't win anything. nothin'. nada. zip. I am a sore loser. You couldn't tell, could you?

Who wouldn't give this at least an "honorable mention"? The candy side was on free spin...yup, all the free candy one could desire. The other side was where I made a slot in the plastic for my Valentine's. I even painted the base to look lovey-dovey!

Here's my competition...that won!

I at least should have won ahead of one of these...and I'm not saying which one (top left corner). Don't ya think? =/

Christmas in February

A couple of weeks ago I found two rolls of film.
I haven't owned a 35 mm camera for over 2 years.
Of course I don't remember what they are.
I hurried and took them to get developed.
I won't get to pick them up until Saturday.
Stay tuned to some oldies but goodies I'm sure!

the day before you

my favorite song for the day...
Rascal Flatts of course!
The Day Before You...
I had all but given up
On finding the one that I could fall into
On the day before you
I was ready to settle for
Less than love and not much more
There was no such thing as a dream come true
Oh, but that was on the day before you
Now you're here and everything's changing
Suddenly life means so much
I can't wait to wake up tomorrow
And find out this promise is true
I will never have to go back to
The day before you
In your eyes I see forever
It makes me wish that my life never knew
The day before you
Oh, but Heaven knows those years without you
Were shapin' my heart for the day that I found you
You're the reason for all that I've been through
Then I'm thankful for the day before you-
yeah, yeah
Now you're here and everything's changing
Suddenly life means so much
I can't wait to wake up tomorrow
And find out this promise is true
I will never have to go back to
The day before you
Was the last day that I ever lived alone
And I'm never goin' back
No, I'm never goin' back
Now you're here and everything's changing
Suddenly life means so much
I can't wait to wake up tomorrow
And find out this promise is true
I will never have to go back to
Yeah, I will never have to go back to
The day before you, the day before you

thank you.

We have started our new year with a bang!
Paul cut his finger a couple of weeks ago, and had to have stitches.
It was lovely.
This I am not very thankful for, because I got the bill...only $700!
BUT I was thankful for Shane coming to the ER to watch Savannah!
Paul needed all the support he could get. =)

Today Van decided to shut her fingers in the car door.
They wouldn't even come out without opening the door.
Ouch, huh? I was dry heaving. It was gross.
So, what I'm thankful for...no broken bones! Yeah!
Van is a strong little girl, and was quickly acting like herself!
Yes, her fingers are swollen and bruised, but she can bend them. =)

I'm just hoping that nothing happens to my fingers. lol.
Here's to another Thankful Thursday!

my letter to you.

I saw this idea on one of my favorite sites inevergrewup.net.
A letter to my Van. I am going to try to do this often.

Savannah,

You and I have had a rough couple of days getting along. Maybe it is my lack of patience, because I have had the flu. Maybe it is because you are growing up, and have an opinion that you like to voice to everyone. Or maybe it is just because we are so much alike. Whatever it is I still love you.

I saw you get really embarrassed for the 1st time on Sunday. Your face turned red and all. I didn't know that was even possible, you are my child after all. You were being brave and reciting the 2nd Article of Faith all by yourself in front of people. I was proud of you.

I love that you are still brutally honest. Like the other day when I put on my sweatshirt, and you told me that it makes me look fat. I knew you really meant phat. =) Or when you told me to stop singing, because it didn't sound very good. I understand, I guess! Let us not even mention the multiple times lately that you have said really loud in front of people that are smoking "smoking is bad, and so is drinking coffee!". That is not embarrassing at all, no ma'am!

I got all of your baby clothes out so that we could start passing some of them along. I have a horrible memory with just about everything, but not with those clothes. I could tell you who gave you each outfit, and where you wore it. You have given me so many good memories. Thank you. I love being your Mom. I have said this multiple times, but you were SO WORTH THE WAIT!

I will try hard to always understand you. I will let you be yourself. I will support you. I will instill confidence in you, and I will always love you.

Love Always,

Momma
