I was told all sorts of things when we decided to have our children over 5 years apart. One of the things was how hard it was going to be on Van. I am proud to say Van is an amazing big sister, and has never had issues with him. She likes to do what every older sibling does...which is tease, but she enjoys playing with him. She is great at helping, great at watching him, and most of all she loves him so much.
Having two children is definitely harder than I thought. Of course, I am glad that I have both of them, and I am glad that they have each other.

That's kind of rude for people to tell you. I'm sure if you'd chosen to have them closer together, you would have heard plenty of "oh it'll be hard to have two little kids close in age". I think no matter what age, they are going to be HARD, but they will be worth it!
I think no matter the age difference, siblings can connect some how someway at some point in time. My older bro and I are 4 years apart and it wasn't until we were adults that things started clicking between us. You (and your husband) know when it's the right time to have a children, NO ONE ELSE!
I am the oldest and have a brother two years younger than me. He's one of my best friends!
They are probably two of the cutest kids on this entire planet. Oh, those thighs kill me every time!
Some people need to keep their mouths shut. I think the best relationships in our house are between Olivia and Tyler and they are 5 years apart too.
My sister and I are 9 years apart and thought it took years for us to become friends, it was more than worth the wait!
They are adorable together!
