oh pumpkin.

Carving pumpkins are not a tradition around here. Sometimes we paint them, sometimes we just use them as decorations, and occasionally we carve.

This year the kids begged to carve the pumpkin, I personally like painting...but you do what the kids want.

2 seconds into the top coming off, I realized I was going to be doing this business by myself.
Devin hated being dirty...yes, he is a little OCD {see above photo}. Savannah said the smell made her sick. They were perfectly content telling me how they wanted the pumpkin to look, and then taking pride in my work after I was done.
Next year...I will not be carving the pumpkins by myself again, I get to pick what we do, and I want to do some of those awesome glitter ones.

The pictures in this post are a hoot! Your kids are so cute! Last year I went through this exact same thing. So frustrating! I think I'm going to vote for glitter or painting them next year too!

Glitter pumpkins are my favorite! You can also get Mr. Potato head pieces and just stick them into your pumpkins instead. The only reason I carve pumpkins is so I can eat the seeds.
