baby names.

Well over a year ago I did a post about names. It is still to this some of my favorite work, and since we found ourselves picking out baby names for our baby #2, I thought of this post again.

Do you have a story behind your name? AND better yet, does anyone actually like their name? I have always hated my name. Shocking that in high school I wanted a cute, popular name...and my name was well, my Grandma's name too! How could I be hip and cute with an ugly name, I tried to figure it out! I am pretty sure I failed.

Picking names is hard.

We picked Van's name long before we knew if we were having a girl. She is named after a movie, and her middle name is from my MIL. We had visions of what our daughter would look like. She of course would have Mommy's dark features, because why wouldn't she. We were MORE than shocked when our Van came out very blond, and had very blue eyes.

I think that Paul and I both questioned whether or not she fit her name, but we had nothin' better. Van it was...and now we can't imagine another name for her, of course!

Girls names have always come very easy to Paul and I. We had a girl's name picked when baby #2 was just a thought. Bri will be named after a movie, just like her older sister. Bri's middle name will be after my middle name. I have always loved my middle name. Not because it was uh-mazing, but it was just SO much better than my first given name! LOL.

It really is just crazy talk in my family to even think about having a boy at all. We don't have boys. No one ever has been successful...and let me tell you my Brother and SIL have 5 girls! Yes 5 tries...not 1 boy! We do have a name, but have been VERY unsuccessful in picking a middle name. Vin was mostly conjured up, because of my blog. It would go with our nicknames well. Lame reason to name a kid huh!? BUT Vin's name will have meaning, because well you see my middle name is De. Bri will get it, and if it just so happens to be a boy Vin will get it too! DEVIN. =) I really want a family name for Vin, but everything sounds funny.

So, I want you to share. Why do you like your name, or not? Do you think a name should have a story, or can it just be random cuteness? Or if you want to come up with something that goes with Vin...feel free.

I think that this "All American BBQ Feast" has something for everyone. From ribs to chicken and pork, it is all divine! They call this a feast for two, but with an extra order of corn bread and corn...it fed the 5 of us! No joke! I got full, didn't you Jenny?

Kim and I were jr. high friends. We found each other through blogging. It was weird, but it was our destiny to find each other again. When I found Kim, I found Lindsey aka Mrs. R, because they are bff's. I may or may not have randomly went up to Mrs R in a public place, not remembering why she looked familiar...and asked her "do I know you?". AND as soon as that line came out of my mouth, I thought shiznit I blog stalk you. Talk about embarrassing, because it was. BUT guess what? On that day I got to see her g baby IRL, and it was before his adoption went public on her blog. I got to get chills looking at her new bundle of joy that had been given to her, Mr. R, and their Tyson.
If you read her blog you have probably wept, pumped a fist, and prayed for her and her family in the g baby saga! His adoption has been a mess, but worth it, right Lindsey?

I think most of us know how expensive adoption is, but do you know the cost that occur when you have a contested adoption?? Lawyer fees galore. Because it has been a year long battle...Kim, Mrs R, and Leisha have schemed up an etsy shop to help with costs. Awesome idea, huh? So, I present to you...

3 ultra sounds in 11 weeks.

This one was taken today when I woke up with lots of ahem...ya know girls!

I don't think that I clarified that they found a problem in the last ultra sound, because well...I am not even sure if I know what it is. I tried finding it on the internet, and gave up. =) I know the Dr. explained it, but once I hear that baby is fine, I tune everything else out. Silly me. My Dr. said it is "common", and of course she says I need to take it easy. Which is actually easier said than done, but I am trying.

Let me see if I can try to explain what is happening to me...

there is a blood hemmorage next to the baby. It is very visible on an ultra sound. The 2nd ultra sound I had they measured this "hemmorage" more than the baby. Today when I woke up with my ahem "problem", I quickly called the Dr. She had me in her office within the hour...I guess I need to take this more seriously. So, well we got more pictures of the not-so-raspberry anymore, which is nice. They noticed that the hemmorage is getting smaller, and that is why I had a "big problem" this morning. It is started to sluff off, and go away. Which is good news, but in the mean time...I have to deal with this obnoxious period of sorts! I thought I was suppose to get a break from all this girl stuff while I was pregnant, or not!

Did they make any sense?

You know my absolute hatred for surprises? If you didn't, now you do. Can you imagine me having a baby, and not knowing what it is...it completely throws me over the edge! I wonder, dream, and then I succumb to doing Jr. High games to figure out what this baby is that I am having.

I am hoping that someone knows this "test"!!? You put a string on the end of a pencil...like so...

then you dangle it over your wrist. It will turn in circles for boys, and it will do a line for girls. Pausing inbetween each child. So, I did it to my boss...it was correct, I did it to my friend...it was correct. They did it to me, and I am still laughing. I am beginning to think this "test" is true.
