Applebee's was the first restaurant that I gave a food review to, and now I just want to say that they have to got to have the worst customer service EVER!! Applebee's does have the food I absolutely crave, but I will now be boycotting...until they have a new round of employees, or something!

It is BFF's birthday, and I decide she needs a gift card from Applebee's. I walk in with Van, tell them what I need, and I get sent to the bar to purchase it. We wait, we wait, and we wait some more. Van finally climbs up on a barstool, and I stand next to her. When I am finally greeted I am told that Van needs to leave the bar, because she is not 21...that wasn't obvious to anyone else was it?! I immediately say "if you guys wouldn't have taken so long to help me then she wouldn't have sat down!" I am sure that isn't how I should have responded, but I did. I give her the money, and get sent to wait in the lobby. I sit, and sit, and sit some more. Finally Paul comes in, because he is wondering if I got lost. We sit some more, and finally we got the gift card.

Really should buying a gift card be this difficult? Didn't "the greeter" see that I had a small child when she sent me to the bar to purchase something? I guess so long to Applebee's in our routine of restaurants...Paul hated that they didn't have Dr. Pepper anyways!

I am pretty sure that everyone has been able to see the commercials for the Men's Extenze, but did you know that they have it for Women!!? No way, right!? AND in case you wanna try it out, it's at 7 Eleven. Since I am suppose to be on "pelvic rest" for 3 weeks...I unfortunately won't be trying this out any time soon. {tear} If you live in Utah, you know how cArazy the wind storm was yesterday. There was multiple fires, and all sorts of traffic from road closures. Landon and I decide to go outside to check out how bad it really was...and I found this gem...

Sssssnake! eeww! grrroooss!!

When Van isn't outside, she is quietly sitting at her bedroom window analyzing every movement of neighbors, dogs, and her grasshoppers. Don't believe me? Just ask our neighbors that unfortunately live right behind us. She has been known to knock on her bedroom window to get their attention. I like to call her my "lil reporter"!

Paul had mentioned to Van that there were birds out in the back yard eating her grasshoppers. We used this as an opportunity to explain to Van the circle of life. She spent several minutes yelling at the birds "those are my kids!" and "oh, don't eat Alex!" Even though they were taking her grasshoppers...she was extremely entertained. I let her be, and decided to get ready for the day.

Van came YELLING into the bathroom..."Mommy there is a snake in the back yard!" My first thought is how can Van see that from her bedroom window? Can you imagine my shock and horror when I went in her bedroom to look out the window...and saw this fat snake slithering in the lawn!!?

Of course Paul and I were in hysteria, and Van was mesmerized!! We couldn't believe it, and tried to come up with a plan to get it out.

Plan A: get a rake!

Okay, so the rake just pissed him off, but it did make him go into the neighbors weeds. That was until he realized that he liked our lawn a lot better...so he slithered into our FRONT yard.

Plan B: turn on the sprinklers!! Now that was workin'! We got him all the way into the middle of the street!

We are total wimps when it comes to things like this. Some people would have just gotten a shovel, and taken him out...not us. We decide that we are leaving in the car, and we will just run him over. Good plan eh!? Or not! Paul tries to run him over like 5 or 6 times...trying only to run over his head, and completely missing him in the process. We give up, and leave the gross snake in the road. the. end.

*update* Paul comes to pick me up...he assures me that he saw it dead in the gutter. He takes me back to the "site" and miraculously it is gone. Hmmm, does that mean that we have a gross snake still slithering around the neighborhood? Why yes it does ladies and gentlemen!

what can I say...I am addicted.

Do you remember when I posted about Scentsy here and here...and I am pretty sure there were more posts than that?!

Ever since I had my first Scentsy party, I have become addicted. It is kind of pathetic. I have two big warmers, and a plug in...and I have to get more. Even Paul didn't think much of it when I was telling him about Scentsy, and he was caught talking about how great it is a couple of weeks ago.

I love switching my scents out A LOT, probably too much. If I didn't feel like I was wasting wax I would do it every day. I have tried a few new scents, but I am kind of a newbie at this. Can you imagine my shock and horror when I found out there is a long list of scents and warmers being discontinued?! I can't let them go away without trying more, and of course stocking up on some of my favorites!

This is the warmer that I have my eyes on...it is pressed penny, and would match my bathroom perfectly!! Did I mention it is also being discontinued? {tear}

less and less sleep.

Van has always had a hard time sleeping through the night. She has been wonderful for about a year, until these past couple of weeks. She usually only wakes up once, and goes back to sleep quickly. I haven't been sleeping all that well myself so I actually find the "break" in my tossing and turning quite nice. I think that Van knows that I need to practice again for the new baby.

Last week was an extremely busy week for me. I was gone a lot, and I missed Van terribly. I missed Van at Tae Kwon Do. I missed Van playing with the grasshoppers. And most of all I missed all of our time together. It was hard.

One night Van woke up, and I quickly rushed to her side...I am not sure that Paul even hears her. When I got there Van said "I want my Daddy!" It broke my heart. I had been gone so much that she didn't want me to comfort her. I sat on the edge of her bed, and started to talk. Most of the time she isn't very alert, but as soon as she realized I was there for her...she woke right up.

She excitedly told me that in Tae Kwon Do she was the only one in her class that could "break bricks". I teared up. I had missed it. Major bummer!

After that night I decided that I will relish every moment...even if it means that I will get less sleep. I won't complain that my almost 5 year old needs me in the night, because I am just glad that she does still need me. I won't be grumpy in the morning from the lack of sleep, because I will know that I got extra time with my Van.

The days are quickly passing where it won't be just the 3 of us, it will be 4. I am taking advantage of all my one on one time with Van, and soaking up all her kisses and hugs!

Thanksgiving Point Extravaganza!

My family has never experienced Thanksgiving Point, and we were thrilled about doing the GRAND tour. There is SO much to see there, I had no idea. I had heard people talk about the Dinosaur Museum, and I knew that photographers loved taking bridals in The Gardens...but to see it all for ourselves was wonderful.The Gardens were beautiful, and Van had to take an umbrella for shade. They have Segway's that you can rent, and it would be a totally fantastic date night! I have to say when Van saw a Segway she said "That's from Mall Cop!". Funny huh?Attached to The Gardens they also have the Discovery Gardens! There is lot of fun stuff to do for the little ones. Van had a blast with Noah's Ark...even though there was suppose to be water. =)I think that my favorite adventure we had was definitely the Farm Country. They have wagon rides, pony rides, you can milk a cow, and so much more. I enjoyed watching Van explore, and get excited over feeding goats.I am pretty sure that Van would have spent the entire time that we had at the Dinosaur Museum playing in the water/sand feature. I even put my hands in, and it was actually really relaxing. There was so many hands on things...coloring projects, make your own dino (see picture of Van's), puzzles, and labs.
