Applebee's was the first restaurant that I gave a food review to, and now I just want to say that they have to got to have the worst customer service EVER!! Applebee's does have the food I absolutely crave, but I will now be boycotting...until they have a new round of employees, or something!
It is BFF's birthday, and I decide she needs a gift card from Applebee's. I walk in with Van, tell them what I need, and I get sent to the bar to purchase it. We wait, we wait, and we wait some more. Van finally climbs up on a barstool, and I stand next to her. When I am finally greeted I am told that Van needs to leave the bar, because she is not 21...that wasn't obvious to anyone else was it?! I immediately say "if you guys wouldn't have taken so long to help me then she wouldn't have sat down!" I am sure that isn't how I should have responded, but I did. I give her the money, and get sent to wait in the lobby. I sit, and sit, and sit some more. Finally Paul comes in, because he is wondering if I got lost. We sit some more, and finally we got the gift card.
Really should buying a gift card be this difficult? Didn't "the greeter" see that I had a small child when she sent me to the bar to purchase something? I guess so long to Applebee's in our routine of restaurants...Paul hated that they didn't have Dr. Pepper anyways!

That's a bummer! It's only recently that I started going to Chili's, after a 5 year-boycott. I don't really even know why I boycotted in the first place.
That is so annoying. Especially when you were trying to get in and out. I don't know why, but it seems like a lot of restaurants struggle to get gift cards fast which is incredibly ANNOYING!
Um, that was me. My mom was signed in on my computer and I didn't realize it until I posted. . . Sorry.
Oh I will tell you what place is pissing me off lately....

You totally should do a post about it. I even sent them a link to my blog, because I am just an irritated pregnant person. LOL
I have started buying gift cards at wal-mart for this exact reason... it is so irritating when you can't just get in and out with a gift card!
As for stores that piss me off... BEST BUY.... (specifically the Orem store.... but I have banned the chain all together). They would not repair my digital camera while it was under warranty, and they finally took it back and shipped it to the wrong location and LOST it and refused to replace it for SIX weeks (right before christmas of course, so I had no camera!!) and they made me keep waiting in hopes that it would surface... it was supposed to go to California to get repaired, and the tracking number showed it getting sent to Virginia... That happened in 2004 and I still don't go there. I will never shop there again... I will spend more money on a camera elsewhere (like RC Willey :) ) then ever shop at best buy again!
Ive always had terrible customer service at applebees too, no matter what location I go to. They have some serious training/policy issues. One time I took my mom out to lunch and we waited 15 mins before the waitress even came to take out order (the place wasnt busy), they only brought out my moms food (said mine would be out in a few minutes)and then 20 mins later after my mom was finishing they FINALLY brought out my stone cold food (after I complained about waiting). I will never eat there again.
OUTBACK! So, they are a steakhouse, right? We go in and get seated, and after waiting for our waiter for 15 minutes, we get to order. I order a steak. 20 more minutes go by and we finally have our drinks; another 5 minutes and the food is finally out. I cut into my steak that is supposed to be MEDIUM, and it's still bleeding. Not just in the center, but the ENTIRE STEAK. It looks like they rolled it on the grill to brown the outside and then sent it to me. It was SO SICK. And then, when we finally hunt our waiter down, he tells me it's because the steak is so thick that it's hard to cook all the way through. If I had been at McDonald's, I would have accepted that excuse. But that's what they do there! I was so mad. I don't know if I'll ever go back.

ah, Chili's. A couple years back a server/waitress at Chili's stopped at our table, looked right at me and said "You're gonn have to get your kid out of the way!". My daughter was 2 and had been standing in the walkway for all of 2 seconds picking up her napkin. I was so mad I really wanted to punch her. Instead Mark talked to the manager and we got a few free meal coupons. Seriously, even i she was running around the restaurant screaming, you don't talk to customers like that. It was just that one server, but I'm not always rational. I didn't go to Chili's again until recently.
AppleBee;s pissed me off last time I went there too. The waitress flirted with a group of guys the next to our table the entire night and gave us mediocre customer service.
It was so annoying knowing the only reason our food came late was because she was letting the boys know her work schedule.
I'm sorry. I will have to let you know how my experience goes when I go use my gift card! Thanks again!
aww im sorry!!!! and i LOVE applebees!!!! thats a bummer!! this past weekend I was in Sacramento visiting some girlfriends and we got a taxi to take us downtown...and the taxi driver was AWFUL!!! I would put him on blast on here...if he would have even told us his name!! He was no bueno. Lied to us about not having a/c or radio....but as we were reaching our destination he turned it on JUST so that we would know he DID have it!!! RUUUDE. He even talked on his cell for half the drive...which here in CA in illegal! So you can be that he did not get a tip AT ALL!! which....made him yell and honk at us as we were walking away!! Some people have nerve.
Ughhh just venting about it feels so good though lol
I hope Applebees gets some new employees soon for you...because that place has awesome food!!!
