Truth is Van still doesn't know how to ride without training wheels. It usually ends up in tears and frustration when we have tried...so I have decided to back off. She is just a timid thing when it comes to bike riding.
Last year when we got the Schwinn bikes I was so excited to be able ride side by side with Van...with Vin being towed along in our cool new bike trailer. All my dreams were dashed, because Van would rather ride in the bike trailer with Vin.
I have decided this will be our year...Van will learn to love her new bike. Van will get more brave, and even though we might not be able to take the training wheels off, we will stay active!

Oh and we cannot get Matthew to even get on a bike (he is 5) and it took William until he was 6 to ride without training wheels, he rode his bike to school with training wheels then he hit first grade and finally did it!!

I think it's cool that Schwinn is giving away 2 bikes a day. I wish they'd give me one (how is it that I am the only one in my family without a bike?!?). I follow your blog, does that mean I get 5 entries? Woot woot!
I'm telling you, that NY way of teaching them to ride is amazing. Jenna didn't learn until last summer (she was 7). It gave her so much confidence, there still were a couple falls, but nothing like I've seen with others.
ok so if i win this will abby magically know how to ride a bike and i won't have to teach her? if so enter me ;)
Kevin is a big time biker. Although he hasn't gone biking much recently because I struggle big time with the new baby stage. Hopefully now that Andrew is a year old he'll get more time to ride.
I haven't had my bike out in years so this would definitely give me some motivation to get it all cleaned up and out on the road for a spin.
Andy was a champ with no training wheels but Luke is almost 4 1/2 and still can't figure out how to even ride a tricycle (no joke!). It's very frustrating for both of us. hahaha! I guess they just do things at their own pace.
