You don’t “trifle” with a girls night in!
When I get together with my girlfriends it’s all about
Maybe when I have something other than my fridge-meets-stove-meets-sink, everything-within-reaching-distance kitchen I’ll go more gourmet with the desserts. For now I go with what can be made without a lot of counter space…and fridge space, thanks to the Danimals, Go-gurts, Costco-size carton of grapes and multiple Tupperware containers that litter my fridge!
If you don’t have a girls night in already planned get it on the calendar now. Yes, this chocolate trifle is that important! Feel free to add your own flair, whether it’s sliced strawberries, turtle brownies or gourmet chocolate shavings. Whatever you do, enjoy it with good friends. As my husband’s grandfather used to say, “Everything tastes better when shared.”
Decadent Chocolate Trifle
1 (19.8 oz) package brownie mix
1 (3.9 oz) package instant chocolate pudding mix
1/2 cup water
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (8 oz) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 (12 oz) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 (8 oz) bag Heath bar bits
Chocolate and caramel sauce for drizzling
Prepare brownie mix according to package directions and cool completely. Cut into 1 inch squares. In a large bowl combine pudding mix, water and sweetened condensed milk. Mix until smooth, then fold in 8 ounces whipped topping until no streaks remain.
In a trifle bowl or glass serving dish place half the brownies, half the pudding mixture and half the 12-oz. container of whipped topping. Sprinkle with Heath bar bits and drizzle with chocolate and caramel. Repeat layers. Crumble a Heath bar candy bar into large chunks and dollop in the center. Refrigerate 8 hours before serving.
