savannah plans father's day.

We have been receiving The Friend magazine (church related) for years. I use to think it was kind of a waste of money, especially since all the articles are online. It wasn't until the past year Savannah has really taken an interest in it. Those magazines are heavily used, dragged to church, in the car, and land in her bed every night with her.

At the end of May she received her June edition, and this is when her planning of Father's Day all started. She was determined to see this all happen. In my head I was hoping to have a baby by then, and not have to worry about putting it all together...but that didn't go as planned.

She picked out a recipe that the magazine suggested for our meal, and planned cupcakes. We even bought a card, and each person was in charge of writing, or in some cases decorating a 1/4 of it. I was pretty proud of Savannah for all the planning she did, and being responsible for making it all happen. This girl even made our grocery list, and reminded me on Saturday night we needed the good bread for Sunday!

It is clear how much Savannah loves her Dad, and I wouldn't want it any other way. She has so many of the same qualities of him, and I have loved watching it.
I feel completely elated that my children are lucky enough to have Paul as their Father. I couldn't have picked a better man for the role. Of course, I realize that my children get the good looks from him too...so he has been nice to keep around for making such cute kids too!

{Paul said that the card was his favorite part, it probably had something to do with Savannah telling him "you make the sun shine so bright."}
