Lego Land?

Disneyland is the only absolutely necessary one for young kids- that and the San Diego Zoo. Universal Studios might be better for when the kids are a little older, but I don't really know- we didn't go with our kids. We could have spent days and days at just Disneyland & California Adventure.

I realized my comment sounded like I know so much- which I don't, not even at all :). All the places on your list sound like a blast- how long are you guys going for?

My kids enjoyed Old Town and the aviation museum.

I'd hold off on Universal - they tended to gear things more towards adults. Never been to Disneyland but I really enjoyed the Zoo.

I am with the others on Universal Studios--better when the kids are older. And if I remember correctly, Knotts Berry Farm is big on rides and may have gone a little ghetto, but it's been ages since I've been there as well. I think Disneyland and the zoo are the best ideas, along with a day at the beach!

I would skip Universal and do LegoLand. We went to California when my little brother was 2 and did Disneyland, LegoLand and Universal Studios - Universal is definitely for bigger people. I think we took him on one ride in the entire park. Disney's California Adventure is pretty awesome as well - the Bug's Life ride is cute and the food there is excellent, plus you get to eat with the characters everywhere.

I too would skip Universal Studios and probably Knott's Berry Farms as well and I definitely concur with taking a day for the beach. That is always my kids favorite part of SoCal

You know I am planning a trip right now? Leaving in 15 days. Disney of course. Your kids would LOVE Legoland. San Diego Zoo. The Wild Animal Park. Check out Smart Destinations San Diego Go card... tons of great activities and super good prices.
