Giveaway Vote

Since starting giveaways I have come across a problem. People come to enter, but don't come back to see if they win. I have unclaimed prizes as we speak. I feel like it's not fair for me to have to do all the "work" to track people down. I am going to let my readers decide how this should be handled. I want to get your feedback so that I can detemine what you want.

Your choices are...

A. I will give the winner 7 days to claim prize, if not claimed there will be a redraw.

B. I will require everyone that enters the giveaway to include e-mail, and I will contact you.

Speak up! If you don't...I will do it how I want, and all unclaimed prizes I will keep. =) The voting will end June 5th.

I didn't realize you don't contact people. I send a quick email and give 48 hours to contact me back. I can see why it is frustrating because some people come just for the giveaway and never come back. I would make it easier on your site to find unclaimed prizes. Maybe a tab that takes you to winners with names and dates they have to contact you by. Sometimes I just can't remember which giveaway I have entered.

I think 7 days to contact you is fine. After all, you do giveaways to drive traffic to your site, the least the winner could do is contact you. Tracking down winners is for Publisher's Clearinghouse and the UK Lottery.

7 days to claim or a redraw. They should be checking your site to see if they won =)

I think 7 days is a long time. If I enter something then I write it down when it ends and check it. You are so nice to be doing those giveaways, people should be nice enough to come back to your blog.
love ya

I think you should require an email and then give them 2 days to respond to you. Then redraw if they don't respond.

7 days is plenty of time to check and see if you won and if you enter don't you want to see if you are the big winner winner chicken dinner!! I do!! I am not very lucky so I don't win these things but I sure like to see if I know the person that won!! 7 days then redraw!! That's my vote!!

I think give them 7 days and then redraw. That way you are rewarding your consistent blog readers, not just a random stalker. And then just hope they weren't on a vacay or something. :) But you shouldn't have to track them down if they really want their prizes.

Someone near the top suggested a box of some sort on the top of your page with your current giveaways and time they end/ or who has won once it finished. 7 days and re-graw is sooo generious!

Yep this sounds good! Some really big bloggers don't even pick a new person they pocket the giveaway. I don't know if agree with that though!

I choose B! And up to 3 days max! :)

7 days seems like a really long time to be waiting to see if the person is going to realize or not. Also, your blog is updated often so maybe they only read the most recent post and missed the one announcing that they won.

An e-mail and 48 hours seems very fair.

I say B. Require an email and then if they don't respond, give the prizes to me! lol Totally kidding...sort of. The giveaways are so great but you shouldn't have to hunt people down and then wait and wait for a response.
